Director of R&D at the IDEAS Institute. He received his PhD in computer vision from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2014, a double master’s degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Politecnico di Torino in 2010, and the title of professor in 2024. He is a professor at the Warsaw University of Technology, where he leads the CVLab teaHe was also a visiting professor at Stanford University in 2017 and at Nanyang Technological University in 2019 and 2024. Earlier in his career, he worked at Google in 2013, Qualcomm in 2012, and Telefónica in 2010. In 2025, together with his team, he received the Best Paper Award at NeurIPS. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, an ELLIS Society Fellow and director of its Warsaw unit, and a member of the ALICE Collaboration at CERN. He has co-founded and led several technology companies and startups, including Tooploox and Comixify
