Dr. Janaki Gooty is a professor in the Department of Management in the Belk College of Business, and Organizational Science, an interdisciplinary Ph.D. program at UNC Charlotte. Her research focuses on leadership at multiple levels of analyses with a specific focus on three key intersecting domains: The role of inclusive sampling and research designs in leadership science, emotion as a central concept in leadership, and multi-level, mixed methods. Her second area focuses on the role of emotions, especially moral emotions in motivating leaders and followers to ethical action; and how leaders leverage values and expressed emotions in leader-follower relationships in creating shared realities.
