Industrial designer, mother, and wife. In 2013, she founded Uwaga, śmieciarka jedzie (“Watch out, the garbage truck is coming”) — a community in which more than one million people now save items from being thrown away. As the initiative grew rapidly and organically, she decided, with the support of the community, to establish the Uwaga Śmieciarka Jedzie Foundation. Drawing on its reach, community, and the knowledge gained from running the groups, the foundation works to transform Poland’s waste management system. Together with her husband, she strives for food self-sufficiency and grows vegetables without chemicals or artificial fertilizers. She is the recipient of the 2025 Climate Person of the Year award from the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment in the community activist category. She is a graduate of the School of Leadership and an alumna of the Leadership Academy for Poland. She is also an Ashoka Fellow.
