A journalist associated with Gazeta Wyborcza, specializing in nature topics. He lives in Teremiski in the Białowieża Forest, the source of many of his reports. In 2006, he initiated a petition to protect the Rospuda Valley and received the Andrzej Woyciechowski Award in 2007 for impactful journalism. He is also a laureate of the Polish Journalists’ Association Award (1998) and was named a “Hero of Europe” by Time (2005) for environmental protection. He writes books for children and adults, runs the YouTube channel “Tropem Wajraka,” and publishes regularly online. He enjoys observing wildlife and polar expeditions.
